The school
Hólabrekkuskóli is a comprehensive primary school for students in grades 1-10. The school has about 520 students with two to three classes per grade level. Háteigskóli strives to tailor its schooling to match the nature and needs of its students. We encourage the overall development and education of everyone and promote positive student behavior.
The motto of the school is respect, collaboration, and wellbeing.
Halastjarnan After-School Program is for children in 1st to 4th grade at the school, and 105 Youth Center offers a variety of fun activities for children and adolescents.

School council
A school council that serves as a forum for consultation between the principal and the school community on the school operation. According to Article 8 of the Act on Compulsory Education No. 91/2008, every primary school must have an active school council.

School rules
Háteigsskóli's school rules were revised in 2025, working with the school community and Háteigsskóli's Student Rights Council.
Primary school meals
School meals are free, but it's important for the school to maintain oversight, keep track of allergy and intolerance information, and limit food waste. Students must register for the school lunch program as before.
Students registered last year will be automatically enrolled. Others need to register. Change the registration at matur.vala.is.
