The school
Hólabrekkuskóli is a comprehensive primary school for students in grades 1-10. The school has about 520 students with two to three classes per grade level. Háteigsskóli aims to tailor the school activities to the nature and needs of the students. We encourage the overall development and education of everyone and promote positive student behavior.
The motto of the school is respect, collaboration, and wellbeing.
Halastjarnan After-School Program is for children in 1st to 4th grade at the school, and 105 Youth Center offers a variety of fun activities for children and adolescents.

School council
A school council that serves as a forum for consultation between the principal and the school community on the school operation. According to Article 8 of the Compulsory School Act No. 91/2008, every primary school must have an active school council.

Primary school meals
School meals are free for the 2024-2025 school year. However, the school still needs to track information about allergies and intolerances and limit food waste. Students must register for the school lunch program as before.
Students registered last year will be automatically enrolled. Others need to register. Change the registration at matur.vala.is.
