Háteigsskóli becomes UNICEF Rights Respecting School

UNICEF

Háteigsskóli received recognition as a UNICEF Rights Respecting School on World Children's Day, November 20. The school formally accepted the recognition at that time. The Rights Respecting School project is a collaboration with UNICEF Iceland, which also grants the recognition.

The school, along with Frístund and 105, worked hard to earn this recognition. Special thanks go to our Rights Council, which accepted the award, for all their work.

We celebrated this milestone together in the schoolyard with a speech, dance, and cake. The group was in high spirits, not letting the frost dampen their enthusiasm!

We are extremely proud of this achievement

The goal of Rights Respecting Schools is to build a democratic environment by systematically cultivating knowledge, skills, and attitudes that help children become critical, active, and competent participants in modern society.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child will be a common thread throughout school activities, integrating into students' learning and work.
