Háteigsskóli School Rules

Guiding principle for students and staff at Háteigsskóli:

I come to school to learn and grow in cooperation with staff and classmates.

Háteigsskóli has new school rules!

School administrators working with the school's Student Rights Council launched the project to develop new school rules for Háteigsskóli this spring.

Using the school's motto — respect, cooperation, well-being — as their guide, the Student Rights Council prepared lessons for their classes to discuss the school's values and brainstorm what kind of rules students wanted for their school.

"We talked to our classes about rules. We brainstormed ways to improve the school, and it went really well."

Most Student Rights Council members felt the collaboration with their classmates on the new rules was highly successful. This fall, the rules have been framed and now decorate the walls in all classrooms and hallways throughout the school.

"We discussed what rules are and why they matter."

The Student Rights Council and Háteigsskóli staff are extremely proud of the results and thank everyone who contributed to this important project.
